Biblical Defense For Faith Alone in Christ Alone for Eternal Salvation
Introduction
The subject of faith alone in Christ alone is not a new subject. Bible scholars, teachers, professors, and many others have debated this subject, and there has never been a conclusion. Therefore, you must understand that there is confusion today because we have failed to look at what the Scripture says. Most Bible scholars are wrong; professors are leading people astray with what they think, and sometimes pastors too have become content creators.
But also, there is a need for everyone to go back to the Bible and stand upon the Word of God as our final authority. As a student of the Bible, a believer , and a preacher, I would love to share with you some verses that changed my heart concerning faith alone in Christ alone.
Bible is it’s own Dictionary
Moreover, the Bible is it’s own dictionary when it comes to the subject of faith alone in Christ alone. When we say faith alone in Christ, what does that mean? We meant that for a sinful man to approach the Holy God, there is no shortcut; there is a way that leads to heaven; it is only through the substitutionary payment of Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection for the remission of sins.
Bible says, “1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Bible Says
The Son of God came into the world to die for the sins that we owed and to suffer on the tree for the punishments that we deserved. I was born into a religious home, where we do everything religiously with the mindset that those things will get us to heaven. But one day, someone came to me and showed me the way of salvation more perfectly.
Therefore, I trusted Christ alone for my salvation, and I am forever saved and secured in his hand. I am not going to Hell again because Christ paid the price, went to Hell, and suffered for my sins.
It was the merit of Christ that saved my soul from eternal destruction. I am a product of the grace of God, not of works of righteousness. I am saved forever because Jesus saved my life.
Five Verses on Faith Alone in Christ Alone
There are many verses that speak concerning faith alone in Christ alone, but these verses are the ones that I use whenever I share the gospel with people.
6 Powerful Bible Verses that Transformed My Life
- John 6:47: The Bible says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” Jesus empathetically told his followers that anyone who believes on Him has everlasting life. This is a great assurance of salvation. Now, there are many people who are living in doubt about the assurance of their salvation. This is the promise of God to believe. Christ didn’t say that it was belief and good works; he said that you must believe on Him alone. Are you going to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ?
- John 5:24: Again, the Bible is clear on what you must do to be saved. The Bible says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
- John 20:31: “Joh 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
- 1Jn 5:10–12: “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
- Act 8:37: “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” Philip preached Jesus Christ to Ethiopian Eunuch, and the question of baptism came up, but the preacher will not baptize him if the Eunuch does not understand the gospel. But the answer satisfied Philip that the hearer understood the message. What is the message? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Acts 16:30–31: The Bible says, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Conclusion
The Bible’s way to heaven has not changed from faith alone in Christ alone. There are many people who are attacking the simplicity of salvation, but the word of God is clear and plain, even a child can be saved. Therefore, it is only through faith in Christ Jesus that a man can be saved.
Act 15:9-11 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
